assembly instructions need better pictures however once assembled and in use it is very good design. I had some difficulty leveraging the end up on to my roof but eventually i got the hang of it. I could remove about 6 inches of soft snow easily.
I am very happy to receive the Snowpeeler, we get over six feet of snow on our roof and we are concerned with the load. The snow peeler can take off enough to stay within our load bearing weight.
Best regards
Love it, so easy to use, I have a bad back & poor lungs but found it fun to use. Thank you so much!
I had checked out reviews and researched alternatives and SnowPeeler’s quality puts the others to shame. There is an Elbows Up bonus - it’s Canadian made.. I bought from the company’s own website and was able to score a used one at a nice savings with the same warranty and paid less than on Amazon. A big thank you to the reviewer who advised to start with only the handle extensions necessary to get started and add more as you need to go higher. You will appreciate the longer fabric that is offered than the competition supplies but the standard length was not enough for me. Let me explain. My cottage roof has a low pitch and as I got halfway to the peak the fabric was not long enough to carry the snow all the way off the roof and piled up a few feet from the edge. It meant that when I had finished removing the upper snow that I had to shorten my pole length and tackle the pile. Just about everyone’s advertising for these types of products shows a very steeply pitched roof which eliminates my problem as gravity can be a very persuasive assistant in that circumstance. The wind can also be an issue by blowing the fabric around if it is very windy. I tried attaching the fabric to the installed bungee cord but that seemed to cause the snow to make a beeline for me. That being said, the company does offer a longer fabric with a weighted end if your situation dictates.. I will put my thinking cap on and find a way to add a weight to my fabric. The other issue that again is peculiar to my situation is that as I retracted the pole towards me the end, being open would go into the snow and fill the end that I eventually needed to add another pole to. A rubber cap or two(because I would be sure to lose one) to put on the open end while working would be helpful. When finished, I took the poles in the house and stood then on a boot tray to melt and drain. As a final note, I am 77 and not as strong as I once was and this turned out to be a good workout for me so pace yourself, the snow will wait for you. Buy quality, buy Canadian!
For me, having this is peace of mind. When the snow piles too heavy over my kitchen, and the roof is groaning under the weight, now I can go lighten the load and not worry about more snow in the forecast.
Wasn't really needed. Too long like 25 to 30 ft and it was too heavy to lift.
Good product. Works very as intended, meaning it cuts snow easily and brings it off the roof. Its cumbersome with 30+ feet of length but readily handled at 15 to 20 feet of length. Works easier than a snow rake by far. I added 2" wheels to the plastic shoes and this kept the cutter from pulling up heating cables. Also put anti-skid tape on one of the lengths for better grip. I deducted 1 star because there was some hardware missing, and even though quickly replaced, quality must be right the first time.
Amazing tool, works very well even on deeper snow that becomes packed. Easy to assemble and use
Had 3+ feet of compressed snow on my 24’ metal roof. The 30’ Peeler made the job way faster, less effort and safe. It assembled easily and the components look and feel like they will last. Well done you guys from Quebec!
It did a great job once in position. However it is a bit heavy to maneuver.
Pretty sturdy. Easy to use.Solide. Facile a utiliser.
Does a nice job.
This works so well! We used it on part of our roof that we could access from the back deck. The other side of the house has no deck and is a full two stories, so the rake cannot access the roof at the correct angle. The assembly instructions are very thorough and have great pictures, but you do need to follow them closely. I had to back-track twice when I got ahead of the directions. This is a very sturdy device and cuts through even packed snow when you add a little muscle. I am a 5'3" 61 year-old woman and did most of the roof by myself, but spread the work over a few days.
Worked great, best design so far for heavy packed snow
Works great from ground - up. Not so great from rooftop - down.
It 's just handle extension. It's fit
Very solid and good. Just be aware that the SnowPeeler becomes quite heavy if you're using it over large distances with the extension kit.
works well, if you have old shingles no longer stuck down i can see that being a problem, but my roofing is only a couple years old so it should be good for a while.
It tackles the heavy fron snow froze to roof. It slices snow like a cheese cutter. Sturdy but almost too heavy.
